Appraisals & Selling Your Jewelry
There are 2 types of appraisals we do: insurance and estate.
What is the difference?
An insurance appraisal is a legal document that is needed by your insurance company in order for them to financially insure it in case anything happens to your jewelry, like a loss or a theft. The value we are determining is a retail replacement value, or what the item would cost brand new.
An estate appraisal is a legal document that is needed by an attorney that is used to settle an estate. The value we are determining is a fair market value which is used for taxes.
The minimum fee for appraisals is $125 per piece. Our appraisals are very detailed and include photography. We carefully assess and clean each jewelry item to determine the value. You will know all the fine and beautiful details of the piece. This process is very involved and is not something that is done while you wait. We take our time with each piece to make sure we are giving you the most accurate information. Our appraisals are done in the store by our GIA (Gemological Institute of America) trained Graduate Gemologist and an AGS (American Gem Society) trained Certified Gemologist.
Selling your jewelry. If you are interested in selling your jewelry that you are no longer interested in owning, we can help. There is no fee for this service. Simply bring in the items and we will take a look and let you know what we can offer.
